Presentation Abstract

Around the world, tourism destinations and businesses are recognising the importance of developing new experiences. The excitement and novelty of authentic, innovative, and interesting experiences captures social media attention and attracts customers, especially the millennial generation. The panel will provide examples of successful tourism experience design from around the world. The discussion includes design principles such as attention, co-creation, emotions and feelings, fantasy, immersion, savouring, and how these affect out mental processes and in turn create memories and finally satisfaction. These insights will provide tourism business operators with practical ideas about how to create memorable tourism experiences.
