Panel 1 Abstract
The panel will discuss the latest development in tourism education in Asia. Nowadays schools are submerged into other university units, but not so in Asia where the demand for trained professionals is rapidly growing. Speakers from Macao and Japan will share their expansion perspectives, moving up and out while bridging theory and practice. The panel will spotlight China's national strategy for the establishment of a tourism education and training base for Greater Bay Area as well as Japan’s Asia Pacific University plan to launch a free-standing hospitality and tourism college. Conference participants discuss how universities can graduate students ready to enter new hospitality and tourism markets. The participants may also volunteer to join forces with these two leading Asian universities.
